Why not just sing a song? There are millions of songs out there, waiting to be sung. But to improvise with your own voice is different. It’s personal. It’s like having a conversation with yourself and discovering something you didn’t even know was there.
When we tap into a vein of our own music for the first time, it feels exhilarating and liberating. When we learn to co-create with others, it echos tribal life. Community. Ceremony. Celebration. Something familiar and good that we know deep in our cells. Something very needed right now in the world.
If you are shy about singing, learning to improvise with others can be a great place to start. If you have been singing for a while and are ready for something new, it can open up possibilities that you didn’t even know existed.
